Extra options for a standard crate washer
If you purchase a standard crate washer, you can scale it up with various options. You will then create a washer that is tailored to your requirements and business process.
Elpress has various types of standard crate washers. The EKW-1500, -2500 and -3500 are one tank washers with a main wash zone and a rinse zone. The larger models (the EKW-5000, -6000 and -7000) are fitted with two tanks and also have besides a main wash and rinse zone a pre-wash zone. Depending on the desired capacity of the crate washing machine you can choose the model that is most suited to your company. To build the machine entirely according to your requirements there are various options available. The most commonly used options are listed below.
Dosing Pump
A crate washer is normally fitted with a rinse zone that has a rinse arch that rinses the crates. If you wish to – as an additional hygienic measure – you can add a disinfectant to the rinsing water. In this case the rinse zone has to be fitted with a dosing pump that automatically doses the agent into the water. The most common form of dosing takes place in the main wash and pre-wash zones where cleaning agent is dosed to clean the crates as efficiently and hygienically as possible. Both forms of dosing are available in our options package.
Vapour extraction
It is an option for a crate washer to be fitted with a vapour extractor. It makes sense to choose for this option if the room or area where the washer stands does not have a vapour extractor of its own. Often, in a smaller room with a low ceiling, a vapour extractor is not a superfluous luxury. Vapour extraction ensures that the crates leave the washer less wet because the steam generated during washing is discharged and does not settle on the crates.
Frequency Regulator
With a frequency regulator the speed of the transport chain can be set. This is a very useful option when the crates have very diverse soiling. When they are only slightly soiled the transport chains can be set to a higher speed and therefore the crates will be in the machine for a shorter period of time. The retention time for very soiled crates can be increased by setting the frequency regulator to a lower setting. With this option the washer's capacity can be adjusted.
Heating element
The choice of a heating element is more or less a 'compulsory' option, because the crates are almost always washed with warm water. Depending on your company's facilities, you can choose steam injection for warming up the washing water, a warm water coil or an electric element.
Single-person Operation
Do you have a limited amount of employees available for the operation of your crate washer? Then single-person operation might be a real option. With a crate washer without single-person operation the crates must be put in on one side of the machine and they come out on the other side. With single-person operation the crates are put in and come out on the same side. Via the top of the washer the soiled crates are transported to the other side and then via a tipper system they go into the washer and come out clean in the place where the employee is standing.
Mobile version
The mobile version of the crate washer is on wheels. This option is available for smaller standard washers (without a pre-wash zone). The washer can then be easily moved and possibly be used in various other locations within the company. However, it is important that the necessary connections are available in these places. Sometimes a mobile version is a necessity to be able to place the washer in a premises, simply because there is too little space for a fork-lift truck.
